About
António Pedro de Sá Leal was born in Lisbon in 1971, graduated in Philosophy at Universidade Nova de Lisboa - FCSH, having subsequently obtained two postgraduate degrees in European Studies and Marketing Management at ISEG, and recently graduated in Advanced Management of the Economy of the Sea from AESE Business School.
From 1996 he decided to dedicate his life to surfing.
In 2001 he founded the company Alfarroba Ideias e Eventos which contributed in a decisive way to the affirmation of Surfing in Portugal.
He created Free Surf, the first and only free surf magazine in Portugal, and is co-author of the book Portugal Surf Guide, the first complete guide to Portuguese waves (UZINA BOOKS -2012-2017).
He is the author of the book Surfing- The Next Step (LEYA- CASA DAS LETRAS - 2018), and in 2020 he released his first novel - SALVADORES (LEYA -CASA DAS LETRAS - 2020) and is also co-author of the book - Entrepreneurship and Innovation in Sports (Quantic Publisher – 2022).
He currently divides his time in several projects, among which Lifedreame's role in the Surf Social Wave Association, a non-profit social association, which uses surfing as a way of training young people and adults towards employability, as a consultant of the Portuguese Surfing Federation, of the chair of the Surfrider Foundation Europe in Lisbon, and of the guest assistant professor at the Escola Superior de Desporto de Rio Maior.
He is married to Beatriz and father of Filipe and Rita, surfer, lover of nature and the sea, defines himself as Lifedreamer.
